What can you do to save the Blanding's Turtle?
To save Blanding's Turtles it is essential that we are all good stewards. Blandings turtles are often killed due to roadway accidents. Therefore, without putting your self at risk it is important to make sure that they cross roadways safely. To do this, if possible, gently carry the turtle to the other side of the road. Do not move it farther then when you found it. You can always report any sittings to the the Ministry of Natural Resources and Forestry, which is linked down below. Furthermore, if you see any illegal activity such as native species being sold in pet stores report it to the mInistry of Natural Resources at 1-877-TIPS-MNR (847-7667). It is important that we keep thse little creatures roaming around for generations to come, so remember to do your part.
